Stage 1: Material and tools deployed by barcode-driven WMS system.

All materials and tools used are continuously traceable due to the use of a barcode-driven WMS (Warehouse Management System).

The advantages of this are:

- Use of the proper material is assured
- Certainty that material is processed to a FIFO system (First In First Out)
- Full traceability of the material: from raw material to end product
- Online monitoring of stock levels for greater delivery reliability.

Stage 2: Explanation of the metal press work process

In this process the raw material is transformed into a finished product in one single movement: a process that can comprise up to 30 different operations.

These steps, which are statistically certain to achieve the strict tolerances, include:

- Integrated thread forming
- Fitting roll bushes and pins
- Cone forming to DIN standards with angular tolerance of -0.5°
- Twisting of product with angular tolerance of +/- 0.5°
- Integrated fitting of bearing bush with diameter tolerance of +0.03mm
- Forming of spring recesses, reinforcing lips and stop bosses
- Deep drawing of pots with precision dimensions.
 

Stage 3: Control

Statistical process control means we are certain that all parts are within tolerance: Cpk > 1.67

In addition, production is also subject to periodic production control using 3D measurement machines, what is known as the CMM (Computerised Measuring Machine). These measurements are automatically processed statistically to give histograms, capability studies etc.

Once the products are finished, they are identified using the Odette system, and delivery takes place in accordance with the JIT principle (Just In Time).
Throughout the entire process all movements and stock levels are monitored and controlled by the WMS.
